From idea to product: The journey of how our candles are made.

Oleilu

When we create our candles, we aim to take you on a journey, inviting you to step away from the ordinary and into a new experience. Whether it’s an aromatherapy candle crafted to help you relax and unwind after a hectic day, or our Arabian Nights candle that transports you to the vibrant markets of Saudi Arabia, each candle is designed to evoke a different place and mood.

Creating a candle isn’t just about the wax and wick; it’s about crafting an experience, a mood, and a feeling that takes you somewhere special. Every candle I make is infused with thought, love, and creativity. Let me take you behind the scenes of how my candles are made and the process, where I blend scents, design, and artistry to bring each piece to life.

1. Finding Inspiration in Scents

Every candle I create begins with finding the perfect scent. To me, scents are more than just smells—they’re memories, emotions, and places wrapped up in a single note. Sometimes, these scents are inspired by places I’ve been, like a favourite beach vacation or a stroll through a blooming garden. Other times, I’m drawn to more unique and rare fragrances that evoke feelings of adventure or mystery.

When I search for new scents, I imagine the place they could transport someone to. Will the scent remind them of a peaceful forest after the rain? Or perhaps a lively market in a distant city? The goal is to evoke a story in each candle—something more than just a pleasant fragrance.

2. Designing the Perfect Pot

Once I’ve found the perfect scent, it’s time to think about the vessel that will hold it. The design of the pot is just as important as the scent, as it needs to complement the experience. I choose the colour, material, and pattern of the pot carefully, always considering how it will best suit the scent and the ambiance I want to create.

For example, a soft lavender or eucalyptus scent might find its home in a light, calming ceramic pot with minimalistic lines, while something bolder, like a spicy cinnamon or smoky cedarwood scent, might call for a richer, darker container with textured patterns that give it a more rustic or dramatic feel. Every element of the pot is chosen to enhance the sensory experience of the candle.

3. Crafting the Candle

Once the scent and pot are selected, the real magic begins. I blend the fragrance oils with high-quality wax, ensuring the scent will burn evenly and fill the space with a beautiful aroma. I carefully pour the wax into the pot and set the wick, allowing everything to settle perfectly. The curing process ensures that the scent is well-balanced and will burn beautifully.

Why Each Candle Matters

Making candles is about much more than just creating a product—it’s about sharing a piece of my creative journey with you. I want each candle to transport you to a place, bring back a memory, or simply help you relax after a long day. The process might be simple, but the results are meant to be much more: an experience that touches your senses and your soul.
