We pour our candles in small batches using natural soy wax and handmade jesmonite pots, making each piece as sustainable as it is beautiful. Let’s take you behind the scenes of how we bring our travel-inspired candles to life.
🧠 Sourcing Scents That Tell a Story
Scent is memory, emotion, and place — all wrapped into one sensory moment. That’s where every Oleilu candle begins.
When I design a new fragrance, I imagine the story behind it. Will it remind someone of a salty sea breeze on the Cornish coast? Or the spice of a vibrant market far from home?

• 🐪 Arabian Nights – Inspired by the vibrant spice markets of Saudi Arabia. Bold, warm, and mysterious.

Designing Pots That Match the Mood
Our candles don’t just smell beautiful — they’re made to be seen and treasured.
The jesmonite vessels we use are designed in colour blends that reflect each scent’s mood:
• A gentle green for Afternoon Tea
• Bold blue hues for St Ives
• Deep neutrals for Arabian Nights
Jesmonite is eco-friendly, durable, and smooth — and once your candle is finished, the pot can be reused as a trinket dish, plant holder, or keepsake bowl. Each one is handmade and truly unique.
🔥 The Candle-Making Process
Once the scent and pot come together, I begin hand-pouring the candle using natural soy wax. I blend the fragrance oils carefully, place the wick by hand, and allow each candle to cure — this helps the scent throw evenly and burn beautifully.
This isn’t about mass production — it’s slow, intentional work. Every candle is a little work of art.
