Jesmonite & Candle Pot Care | Aftercare Guide

🕯️ Candle Pot Aftercare

Our candle pots are handcrafted using Jesmonite, a sustainable and durable material. Once your candle has finished burning, the pot can be cleaned and repurposed — from plant pots to trinket holders.

Cleaning & Repurposing:

Allow any leftover wax to cool and harden.

Place the pot in warm water for a few minutes, then gently remove the wax.

Wipe the pot clean with a damp, non-abrasive cloth.

Dry thoroughly before reusing.

💡 Want to reuse your jar as a candle again? Try our Soy Wax Refills — easy to use and better for the planet.

Important Notes:

Not microwave or dishwasher safe.

Avoid dropping or hitting the pot, as it may chip or crack.

If refilling with wax, ensure the pot is completely clean and dry first.

🪵 Jesmonite Product Care

All our home decor pieces are made with Jesmonite, an eco-friendly, water-based material sealed to protect its surface.

General Care:

Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth.

Dry fully after cleaning to avoid water spots.

Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Not food safe, microwave safe, or dishwasher safe.

Heat & Candle Use:
Jesmonite is naturally heat-resistant, but white marks or surface discolouration may appear when used as a base for burning decorative candles — especially with coloured wax. This is a cosmetic effect and does not affect function.

⚠️ Safety Disclaimer

Failure to follow care guidelines can result in:

Heat damage

Shortened burn time

Surface wear

Fire risk or injury (if used with candles)

Always burn candles responsibly and never leave them unattended.

FAQ

Can I burn candles on my Jesmonite tray?

Yes, Jesmonite is heat-resistant. However, discolouration or white marks may occur with decorative or coloured candles — this is normal and doesn’t affect performance.

Is Jesmonite waterproof?

Jesmonite is water-resistant but not waterproof. Prolonged exposure to water (like soaking or standing water) can cause marks. Always dry your items fully after cleaning.

Is Jesmonite food safe?

No — Jesmonite is not food safe. It’s designed for decor purposes only and should not be used for serving food or drinks.

Will refilling my candle pot damage it?

Not at all! Just ensure the pot is clean and fully dry before refilling. Always trim your wick and follow safe candle-burning practices.

Can I put my Jesmonite item in the dishwasher or microwave?

No — please do not place Jesmonite in a dishwasher or microwave. It may crack or lose its finish.
